Strained SmoothieStrained Smoothies are a great way to nourish bodies with damaged villi, and other intestinal problems that require very low fiber diets. As your body heals and your ability to digest fiber improves, gradually add the strained off fiber back into your smoothies. Add the fiber slowly, starting with just 1-Tbs, working your way up to unstrained smoothies.
Create The Liquid Base: TIP: Sip your smoothies slowly. Take at least 30 minutes to finish a big smoothie (1/2 a recipe), and up to 2-hours for those of you with guts that are still healing, or if you struggle with having very little appetite.
